Computer Use Policy

Computers in the AMBS Library are for the benefit of the AMBS community. Members of the AMBS community are current students and employees as well as their spouses and children. Participants in programs of the Church Leadership Center may also use the AMBS Library computers. Others who wish to use the library’s computers must inquire at the library service desk.

  • The catalog search computers at the library entrance may be used by anyone to search the library catalog and to access other reference materials. Other uses are prohibited.
  • Student use of computers takes precedence over non-student use. Participants in Church Leadership Center programs and non-student members of the AMBS community may use the library’s computers as space is available.
  • Academic use of computers takes precedence over recreational use. Recreational use of computers includes, but is not limited to, playing games, non-academic instant messaging or e-mail correspondence, and web browsing not related to academic work.
  • All minors and adult children of students may use the library’s computers only under the direct supervision of a parent.
  • Viewing pornography, illegal music, video, and file sharing, and other illicit activities are prohibited.

Wireless Internet

Wireless Internet is available throughout the building. The AMBS wireless network is called Ruach Elohim.

Campus guests may request the password at the service desk. The network is not available to the general public.

Computer lab

A computer lab is available in the south wing for student use. Computers are equipped with word processing software and Bible Works. 

Printing

A library lab printer, located in the printer/copier room, is free for AMBS student, faculty and staff use. The default is back-to-back printing.

Log in the the adjacent computer to release print jobs. Instructions are available for installing print release software on AMBS student, faculty and staff laptops.

Laptops & projector

Several laptop computers and a digital projector are available at the service desk for short-term loan.

The library also has digital video cameras, an iPod recorder, and a videoconferencing kit.

Reference and Searching Stations

Near the service desk, two computers are dedicated to library searching.

The reference computer at the service desk is available for library research.
