Sexual Diversity and the Church: Resources Available from the AMBS Library

"The mission of BMC is to cultivate an inclusive church and society and to care for the Mennonite and Brethren lesbian, gay, bixexual, transgender, and allied community." The Resources page on the BMC website offers a number of free study resources, including definitions of sexuality and gender terms, transgender resources, and videos and study guides for congregations.

A 2015 video of Mennonite LGBTQ people speaking about their experiences in Mennonite Church Canada congregations. Participants describe why being part of the church is important to them and also suggest ways the church can discern faithfully how to relate to those who identify as other than heterosexual.

Draft of a statement presented to the Central District Conference of Mennonite Church USA, June 2015. "This document reexamines sexuality and human relationships in the Bible and articulates a biblical and theological rationale for the uninhibited welcome and full inclusion of persons who identify as LGBTIQ+3 in Christian congregations." A Central District Conference study guide on this topic is scheduled for publication in fall 2016.
