AMBS Library Response to COVID-19 (coronavirus)

2020 Response to COVID-19 (coronavirus)

The AMBS Library is taking the following actions to support students and faculty in the 2020 COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

  • Offering rich online resources, accessible through the library website
  • Wiping down public computers with antibacterial wipes and providing hand sanitizer
  • Following the advice of the AMBS Administrative Cabinet regarding public health precautions, including relieving staff who exhibit symptoms of infectious disease (see AMBS Information in navigation)
  • Providing our usual services for persons at a distance to anyone working remotely due to the pandemic
  • Offering a generous interpretation of fair use scanning for anyone affected by the pandemic
  • Offering on-demand scanning of reserve books and quarantining recently returned books

In this guide, you'll find more information about our special services for persons working remotely.

Library Hours

In response to the Indiana governor's "stay at home" order, AMBS library is suspending its regular hours for the general public, effective March 24-April 6.

The library will remain open for students and employees only during campus hours -- currently 8am-10pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-6pm Friday, and 9:30am-5:30pm Saturday. Campus hours may be changed on short notice via the announcements email. Students, please utilize these generous campus library hours as a time for interacting socially at a safe physical distance and keeping up with online learning activities and research assignments.

We're here to help you succeed!

The AMBS Library has a team of professional staff, student assistants, and volunteers ready to serve you.

Faculty working at a distance

Additional services may be available for faculty working from a distance. Please Ask a Librarian for additional faculty-specific advice.

Interlibrary Loan Restrictions

As a service of the Indiana State Library, the courier that brings us our books will not be operating while Governor Holcomb's stay-at-home mandate is in effect (March 24-April 6).
What this means is a significant reduction in our (already reduced) ability to get physical items from other libraries.  If you find yourself needing to read a book that we don't have, I would advise you to try to find the 1-2 chapters that would be most helpful to you, as we can probably still get an electronic copy.  If you're not sure what a particular book contains, let us know--we can usually get a scan of a book's Table of Contents.
