Sexual Minorities and the Church: Resources Available from the AMBS Library

A variety of resources to promote discussion in the AMBS community. Draft version, June 2016.

Introduction

This the first draft of a guide being developed for students and faculty at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Items have been suggested by members of the community. It includes print and online books and articles in the AMBS Library's collections and also links to free online resources.

Librarians welcome comments and recommendations for additional resources.

Classifying and naming categories

The guide title, the organizational structure, and the labels were selected by the librarians with the advice of some AMBS administrators and faculty. The goal is to avoid terminology that is offensive or misleading. The categories in the left column were chosen to direct users to the resources, inviting them to explore perspectives that are both comfortable and challenging.

Links to online resources

Links to freely available online resources have been provided whenever possible.

Most links to e-books and journal articles are in the library's subscription databases. Within the AMBS campus network, these links will open the full text. Off campus access is limited to AMBS students and faculty according to the terms of database license agreements. This includes students enrolled in the Church Leadership Center's non-credit, independent study course, Research for Ministry: Online Seminar.

AMBS alumni may access some journal articles using the ATLAS for Alum login. Use Ask a Librarian to request the username and password.
