Peace Studies

This guide is designed for AMBS students in Introduction to Peace Studies

Peace Studies is Interdisciplinary

Effective peacebuilding involves using perspectives and approaches from multiple disciplines. As you work in peace studies, your sources will need to come from a wide variety of disciplines. Look for the following:

  • Perspective of sources: look at authors' affiliations and publishers; pay attention to geography and faith traditions
  • Various ways of knowing: choose sources from multiple disciplines, backgrounds, and parts of the library
  • Disciplinary use of language: choose a variety of keywords to search for information on your topic

The peacebuilding wheel graphic expresses the interdisciplinary nature of this work.
