For Comprehensive Research in Bioethics

The Bioethics Research Library at Georgetown University is the premier collection in this discipline. Search ETHXWeb to discover journal articles, essays, books, reports, and laws on ethical issues related to health care, biomedical research, biotechnology, and the environment. The library website also provides bibliographies on specific topics, case studies and suggestions for students, teachers and librarians. Use interlibrary loan to request materials not at AMBS.

Primary EBSCO Databases

ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials (full text)

The ATLA Religion Database is an online database that indexes over 1500 sources in religious studies and theology, including journals articles, book reviews, and essays in multi-author books.  Coverage is from 1924 to the present, with quarterly updates.   ATLA is the foremost scholarly journal database in religion and includes many journals covering world religions.


Academic Search Premier

Academic Search Premier is a multi-disciplinary database of full text articles from magazines and peer-reviewed journals.  Coverage is more up-to-date than ATLA RDB as articles are added daily.

Specialized EBSCO Databases

Articles on the ethics of specific disciplines are included in these EBSCO databases.

Tips for Searching EBSCO Databases

1. Use * to include multiple word endings.

Example: christian* will include results for christian, christians and christianity.

2. Use quotation marks to search for words together as a phrase.

Example: "Martin Luther King" will limit results to the 20th century American leader.
